API Craft Reloaded - Security & Identity in an Open World

Details
Hi API folks,
The API Craft SF meetup series is back with a new structure to ensure a Meetup every 4-6 weeks. For its comeback, the API Craft SF meetup will host 3 speakers on the topic of API Security.
Come listen and meet the greatest minds of Identity and Security:
-
Robert Wunderlich, Director of Product Strategy at Oracle will discuss how Security is so critical to successful APIs that it should be a part of your design-first approach. Using design-first, security is no longer an after-thought, but a focus throughout the lifecycle.
-
Sebastien Tricaud, Principal Security Strategist at Splunk, will review the classic cyberattacks and the open-source patches, libraries and protocols that have been used to counter these attacks.
-
Renata Budko, CMO at Wallarm, will be talking about how AI can help misbehaving APIs and how if we want to preserve agility in development, we need controls that are self-learning.
API security has always been an important topic. Identity management, access level control, applying AI to API behavior to anticipate attacks are complex solutions to implement well.
At the same time, attackers have always more incentives to hack APIs. Because of the platformization of the economy, assets are now concentrated into specific apps. And because of the challenge of building open ecosystems, these valuable platforms needs to open their core capabilities and data on top of their ecosystems via APIs.
That concentration and opening at the same time is the magic formula for a honey pot to attract all attackers.
Because of these new API threats, the industry needs “a new API Security stack” that we will present in the meetup. From how to anticipate attacks, to how to design secured APIs to apply AI to detect attacks when they occurs.
This Meetup is part of the APIdays “Identity and Security in the API World” Conference, happening on July 31st. More info here - https://www.apidays.co/sanfrancisco and use code APICraft for your complementary ticket ($750 value).
The maximum capacity of the venue is 100, and we expect to fill this out very quickly, so please RSVP as soon as you know your availabilities.
We booked one of the best caterers in town, who will be serving Cucumber Gazpacho, Eggplant Caviar, Cheese tasting platters, Canapes, Chocolate Mousse and some refreshing Californian wines.
