Prelegenci i tematy

Andrzej Jarzyna - "Employing DevOps practices in API and AI Governance"

Andrzej Jarzyna, niezależny ekspert API i autor książki "RESTful APIs Design Patterns and Best Practices"

Dariusz Luber - "Beyond the Cloud: Architecting Resilient, Sovereign Hybrid Platforms"

Dariusz Luber, Solution & Cloud Architect, Technical Advisor, Mentor i wykładowca

  • Praktyczny scenariusz: rygorystyczne wymagania regulacyjne i nieznany wolumen danych.
  • Ochrona danych wrażliwych, lokalnie uruchamiane modele AI i kontrola dostępu.
  • Governance, audytowalność i ryzyko zmian licencji open-source.

API Meetup Polska #1

Welcome to the first API Meetup Polska! We plan to meet every 2-3 months, each time in a different Polish city - starting in Poznań, at the STX Next office.

Join us for two talks, discussions, and time to connect with others in the API community. We will explore practical approaches to API and AI governance, alongside the architectural choices behind resilient hybrid platforms that keep you in control of your data and technology.

All talks will be delivered in Polish.

The event is supported by our sponsors: STX Next and Curity.

Speakers and talks

Andrzej Jarzyna - "Employing DevOps practices in API and AI Governance"
Andrzej Jarzyna, Independent API Expert and author of "RESTful APIs Design Patterns and Best Practices"

Governance often brings to mind rules, documents, and additional approval steps. DevOps focuses on automation, effective collaboration, and delivering changes quickly. Bringing these approaches together allows governance to stop being a manual blocker and become a natural part of software delivery.

This matters even more as AI agents become API consumers. An agent will not ask your colleague on Slack about a missing detail. We should not assume it will correctly infer unstated expectations - API contracts, documentation, and usage policies need to be explicit.

In this talk, Andrzej will show how to make API and AI governance part of the DevOps process. Using open-source tools and CI/CD pipelines, teams can automatically check whether APIs follow organisational standards, assess their readiness for AI-agent consumers, catch breaking changes early, keep APIs catalogued, and reduce the gap between guidelines and what teams actually deliver.

Andrzej will also demonstrate how to put a minimal, practical governance setup in place in just a few hours - one that brings value quickly without turning into a major organisational initiative. He will explore how to treat AI agents as first-class API consumers, accounting for their needs and limitations when designing contracts, documentation, and policies for safe access.

Dariusz Luber - "Beyond the Cloud: Architecting Resilient, Sovereign Hybrid Platforms"
Dariusz Luber, Solution & Cloud Architect, Technical Advisor, Mentor and Lecturer

Digital sovereignty does not mean abandoning the cloud. It means making deliberate choices about where data is processed, which parts of the platform remain under your control, and how to avoid becoming dependent on a single provider. This talk explores how on-premises infrastructure and cloud services can work together as a resilient platform that can evolve with an organisation's needs.

Using a practical scenario involving an organisation with demanding compliance requirements and an uncertain data volume, we will look at the trade-off between getting started quickly with a managed service and preserving a credible path to migrate later. We will discuss how stable APIs, open data formats, and reproducible automation can help. The talk will also cover sensitive-data boundaries, the role of locally hosted AI models, decision auditability, and the risks of open-source licence changes.

The focus is on architectural decisions and their consequences: how to choose where workloads run based on data sensitivity, requirements, scale, and cost, while keeping migration options open from the start.

Key topics:

  • Placing workloads across owned infrastructure, European providers, and large cloud platforms.
  • Building portability with standard APIs, open formats, and automation.
  • A practical scenario: strict compliance requirements and an unknown data volume.
  • Protecting sensitive data, locally hosted AI models, and access controls.
  • Governance, auditability, and the risks of open-source licence changes.
