Starting from the Visitor Center Museum (Washington Crossing S.P. (NJ)) parking lot, we will circulate the park E sector counterclockwise peripherally, pass the Nature Center (possibly lunch there), continue on the red dot and blue dot trails (Steele Run N branch) to the mid-west trail convergence, then lace the park interior E/W trails (Steele Run S branch), finally returning to the parking lot. About seven miles, moderate pace, <500 ft. elevation, trails generally dirt, footing good unless wet. Some fields, mostly shaded forest. Bring: lunch, water, boots, snacks, phones. Poles optional. No dogs please. Note 1. Because footbridge across Rte 29 is under reconstruction, we can't visit PA, sorry! Note 2. Park admission is now free, hurray! Note 3. If you have energy after the hike, the History Museum and garden are open until 4 pm; the Ferry House however is only open mornings 10-12. Note 4. Map pin is stuck on park entrance; follow main park road west to Visitor Center/Museum.
Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
