3.25-mile Park Hop: Valley Creek Park and Cedar Hollow Preserve

Details

Hey. Its Mothers Day, but you don't have to be a Mom to go on this hike! Join us as we explore two of the parks and preserves that dot Chester County.

To sign up, add yourself to this Meetup post, then click on https://activities.outdoors.org/s/oc-activity/a5UUN0000012UO1/act00012987 to complete your registration. (Guests must also register online)

In this 3.25-mile park "hop" we will hike a loop to explore two adjacent properties: 35-acre Valley Creek Park and 67-acre Cedar Hollow Preserve.

In Valley Creek, our dirt trail will hug Valley Creek until we hit a short, paved road, our connector to the Cedar Hollow Preserve. The preserve is a popular fishing spot, and we may see fishermen casting lines into the creek. The hike will include climbing over fallen trees, crossing a drainage creek and walking up a couple of small hills totaling 200 feet of elevation.

Although the hike is relatively flat, you should wear sturdy hiking or walking shoes and bring water. Dress in layers according to the weather. If it has rained, the dirt trails will be muddy.

We will meet in the Valley Creek Parking lot: 361 N Morehall Rd, Malvern, PA 19355. Please arrive promptly so we can depart at 9:45am.

In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
