Blue Marsh Lake - A Trail Less Traveled.

Details

Please join us for a hike in Blue Marsh. Blue Marsh Lake was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Construction began in 1974 and was completed in 1979. It is a multi-purpose project primarily for flood control, water supply, water quality, and recreation. This approximately 7.2 mile lollipop loop offers beautiful views of the lake, fields and woods.

This hike will serve as the second co-lead for Geri Weatherholtz.

While this hike is not considered a "workout hike," there is plenty of opportunity for exercise due to decent elevation and mileage. Heavy rain cancels. Please bring water and a snack for 4 or so hours in the woods. A charged cellphone is a good idea. 'Tis the season for pests - bug spray may be a good idea. Although AMC has a new sign in mechanism and you are welcome to use it; please consider signing up on Meetup as it allows quicker communication, vetting and lets other hikers see who is coming. Hikers will be expected to sign a paper waiver. No one under 18 years of age and no dogs please.

Please note:
In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
