Wednesday in the Wissahickon (5 mi)

Join us for a walk in the woods and meadows of the beautiful Wissahickon gorge.

Expect a moderate to brisk pace, depending on the heat. Distance ~5 miles, mostly on unpaved paths with dirt, rocks and roots. There will be hills but no water crossings; bring your poles if you tend to use them. Bring along plenty of water and snacks if you are a snacker - we will take a short break about mid way through the hike. Steady rain or heat advisory cancels - check status the morning of the hike .

Meeting location - Northwestern Avenue parking area, at the trailhead, just before the Cedars House. Porta-potties at or near the start. Do not leave valuables in your car!

Please note that dogs in the Wissahickon are required to be leashed at all times, with no exceptions. If you would like to bring a well-behaved dog, please post a coment so that folks are forewarned.
