Jacobsburg Independence Day Morning 3-4 Mile Hike

Details

All are welcome to join me for a 3-4 mile hike with about 300 feet of elevation at Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center in Belfast, PA. From Route 33 head east on Henry Road to a sharp left onto Belfast Road. Then it is about 0.6 miles to the parking lot (just south of the Environmental Center) where we will meet. There are toilets near the parking area.

We will take parts of the Homestead and Henry's Woods trails to make a pleasant loop with meadows, hills, woods, and the Bushkill Creek.

Please wear sturdy shoes and carry enough fluids for a two-hour activity. As with any activity that takes place during the warmer months, never underestimate your individual hydration needs, and pack plenty of fluids. Spring and summer hikes also bring the possibility of sudden storms, or encounters with snakes, biting insects or ticks. Take proper safety precautions.

Should the status of the hike be in doubt due to any form of weather or excessive heat, phone/text leader. Leader Scott Harney 610-442-0797.

Notes
Prior to joining the walk, a waiver must be completed on the AMC website by registering at https://activities.outdoors.org/s/oc-activity/a5UUN000001Lz7x2AC/act00014652
