Tohickon Valley Park Hike

Details

Join us for a moderate hike at Tohickon Valley Park. The hike will start and end at the Tohickon Valley Park parking lot.
The trail is a scenic hike along the Tohickon Creek. The trail is 6.2 miles long with two sections of elevation change of 200 feet each. We will take the Orange trail, cross Tory Road, hike the loop down to the Tohickon Creek and return via the Blue trail. There will be a brief stop at the creek to appreciate the view.
The orange trail is the most challenging section of the trail, with a narrow path that requires careful footing and may require navigation over some fallen trees. There are lots of rocks and roots on this trail. We will cross several small streams that may result in wet shoes.
Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring poles if you usually use them. Bring water and a snack to eat along the trail.
Heavy rains will cancel this hike. Determination will be made by 8AM. Please check your email and the Activity Calander the morning of the hike to see if it is still on. Also, contact the leader if you have any questions.
No dogs are permitted on this hike.
Meet and park at the Tohickon Valley Park’s main lot. There is ample parking. Participants must register on the AMCDV.ORG website for the event.
Rustic restrooms are located near the trailhead at the start of the hike.
Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
