Saint Patrick's Day Odyssey - SPDO - 50k hike

This year we are returning to the full 50k distance, starting at Pequea campground and finishing at York Furnace Boat Launch. Logistical details will be provided directly to qualified participants. This course ranges over the Mason Dixon and Conestoga trails. It will include creek crossings, steep ascents and descents of around 5,000 feet elevation gain and 5,000 feet elevation loss. Expect long hours on the trail. Everyone should be sufficiently equipped with electrolytes and to eat on the move. We will not be stopping to have lunch, nor to enjoy views, nor take photos. 2 liters water minimum with a resupply along the route. Bring snacks to sustain energy levels and personal medical supplies as well as an insulating layer (fleece/puffy), hat, gloves and anything else you will need to remain comfortable. While we will take every possible measure to be finished by dusk, everyone must bring a headlamp. Pace and mileage will be adjusted in event of inclement weather. Registration is limited for this event and is required. Everyone will be waitlisted and screened for experience and ability. You may also be asked to participate in a qualifying hike so that we may be acquainted with your current ability.
