Asbury Park Hike - Beaches, Boardwalk and Bruce (Springsteen) = 8 - 9 miles

Walking the boardwalk and beach in the late fall is a treat! Come join us for an 8-9 mile walk along beach, boardwalk and street highlighting the unique culture of several beach towns. We will gather at 9:30am in front of Odyssey Coffee (63 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove) and walk the boardwalk to the Convention Center where there are rest rooms, passing several historic/pop culture sights along the way. We will then head south on the boardwalk and the beach toward Belmar and Spring Lake. On our return trip, we will veer off the boardwalk to walk through the downtown and community of Ocean Grove. We welcome any hikers interested to share their connections to the Jersey Shore towns!

Logistics: free street parking is available on Main Avenue and connecting side streets in Ocean Grove. There are restrooms available at several locations along the route. First restroom about 30 minutes into the hike. We will stop for a brief snack break mid hike so bring along snacks/drinks as needed. Wear shoes that will be comfortable for street, beach and boardwalk walking. Moderate/brisk pace along the streets and boardwalk, moderate pace on the beach. Steady rain cancels - check status by 6:30am the morning of the hike or contact leader. Anticipated hike time 3.5 - 4 hours.
