Loop Hike from Little Gap - AT and other trails – 9 miles

Join us for a 9-mile loop hike with some great views. We will be using the AT and the resource island access road to complete a figure-8 hike. We will meet at the large game lands parking lot just south of where the AT crosses Blue Mountain Drive (Little Gap --- Google maps calls this Blue Mountain AT Lot).
This section of the AT was redone in the last few years and is much improved. Some beautiful rock work has been done, and the route was planned to maximize the views. We will keep up a moderate/brisk pace as the terrain allows.
Since we will be walking along the top of the mountain and much of the hike is exposed, the hike will be cancelled if there are high winds or other significantly nasty weather. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the conditions and bring water and a snack.
Please note: To comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.

If the hike is canceled, such as due to weather, we plan to announce this at least two hours in advance.

AMC is a non-profit organization and the hike leaders are volunteers. All participants will need to sign the AMC liability release agreement (click here to review it in advance). Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who will need to sign the agreement for them. Alternatively, you can register on the AMC website and sign the agreement in advance there. The AMC website also shows many other AMC events that might interest you.

AMC is an outdoor recreation and conservation organization that, among other things, helps maintain many of the hiking trails we use. Non-members are welcome on this hike, but membership is inexpensive and supports the great work AMC does (click here to learn more).
