Creek, Climb, and a little culture - Wissahickon/Woodmere hike 8 - 10 miles

Join us for a pretty hike in Wissahickon Valley Park with a little culture thrown in! We will start our hike on the Lavender Trails in Chestnut Hill and will walk and climb on both sides of Wissahickon Creek, hiking through meadows and along wooded and creekside trails. We'll take a short break from the park trails to explore Woodmere's Outdoor Wonder (WOW), which brings together monumental outdoor sculpture and horticulture for a beautiful outdoor experience. Following our garden visit, we'll return to the Wissahickon trails to head back to our starting point. Trails will be rocky and hilly. Please bring along water and food - we will take a brief stop at the sculpture gardens for a snack. Moderate pace, hike distance 8 - 10 miles, anticipated hike time 3.5 - 4.5 hours depending on the pace of the group.

Logistics - we will meet at the Crefeld Street trailhead - there is plenty of street parking available. Steady rain or dangerous driving conditions cancels - check status by 7am the day of the hike or contact leader with questions.
