Birdsboro, A 10ish Mile Hike With Hills, Reservoirs and a Creek.

Two reservoirs, a lake, miles of hiking trails complete with hills, a creek, an abandoned highway, a climbing quarry and a sentence that is both incomplete and run on (oops!). Nonetheless ... an opportunity for a bit of exercise and some interesting scenery. Trails in here often just appear as the area is popular for mountain bikers The hike is rated vigorous both for distance and a few hills. So ... come along prepared to keep up at a brisk pace. Not a workout hike but an opportunity for some exertion.

Think about bringing water and calories for a few hours in the woods, Whatever hike worthy footwear you choose may get a bit muddy or snowy. Charged cellphones and a positive attitude are often helpful. Cell coverage in here is good. Snow on the ground will, of course, extend the hike time. There are no man-made facilities along our route but numerous trees are available. Clothing layers ... well you get it.

Plan on signing AMC's waiver of liability at the trailhead. You are most welcome to signup on AMC'S web site but please also sign up on Meetup. This allows both me and your fellow hikers to see who is attending, aids the vetting process and helps my almost nonexistent memory for names. It also allows for convenient communication. The fine print ... Rain/snowfall/ice cancels. I'll post on Meetup 2+ hours before if it looks like a problem. If the forecast is steadily poor, I will call it off the night before. This generally causes the weather to improve as if by magic and all involved to posit that I have not been attending my counseling sessions. I do tend to err on the side of caution.
