We are in the process of transforming our property into a bird and pollinator friendly meadow. We’ll give a tour of the landscape and explain our journey from lawn to meadow: why we made the choice to go wild, how we prepared the soil and planted the seed, which native plants we selected and why, and what we’ve learned along the way, including the mistakes and challenges! Whether you're curious about reducing your own lawn footprint, want to support native wildlife, or simply crave something more beautiful than turf, we hope to inspire you to reimagine your own yard.

Afterwards, we’ll take a short, casual paced hike from our house to Scotts Run Lake and back, which is about 2 miles. Bring a water bottle, a snack, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. You may want to wear long pants to protect your legs from tall grasses and flowers.

Parking instructions will be sent to registrants before the event. If the weather is bad, we will reschedule.
