AMC150 - Wissahickon Whirlwind - Decide Your Distance 3,6,9,12 miles

Come celebrate AMC's 150th anniversary with a hike in beautiful Wissahickon Valley Park. There is a distance option for everyone! We will start at Valley Green Inn and will hike a cloverleaf route, returning to Valley Green after completing each of the 4 different loops - come for 1, 2, 3 or all! The terrain in the Wissahickon is hilly with rocks and roots, and depending on the weather, the trails may be muddy as well - come prepared. Our cloverleaf route will provide hikers with the opportunity to hike both alongside and high above the creek, affording beautiful springtime views. Moderate pace. Restrooms available at the beginning and end of each loop at Valley Green. Hikers should come prepared with plenty of water and snacks, and clothing layered for the weather.

Logistics: We will meet at Valley Green Inn, Valley Green Road in Philadelphia. While there is a parking lot close to the creek and the Inn, it does fill up quickly, so please give yourself enough time to park at the overflow lot which is about a 5 - 7 minute walk downhill. The overflow lot is on Valley Green Road. Steady rain cancels - please check status on Meetup by 7am the morning of the hike or contact leader.
