Bear Creek Nature Preserve 14 mile fast paced hike with a side trip to a waterfall

We're going to try this hike in a different season - we had 12" of snow last time, which means this time we'll get the full mileage I originally planned.

The Bear Creek Nature Preserve (Bear Creek Preserve | Natural Lands) gives us a chance to move through some rolling hills, along a few pretty streams, down to a reservoir, over to a waterfall, and back up to the start . We will move quickly, aiming for an average pace of over 3 mph. This means we will be moving at 3+mph on flats and slightly slower on the hills. Due to speed this is not a beginner hike and is geared towards those of you who regularly hike or run hills. and can handle the mileage. There will be minimal stops apart from a short lunch break. The route is approximately 14 miles and it's Pennsylvania so it's rarely smooth ground.
We will meet in the parking lot right off of 115 (47 Rabbit Run Lane Bear Creek, PA 18702). There are not bathrooms there, but there are a few places to stop about 10 minutes from the parking lot as you are driving in.

Note: This is a vigorous hike due to the distance and speed, but not overly technical. You should be able to hike 10+ miles without any trouble or need to regularly stop.

Please keep in mind:
