Pinnacle and Pulpit ... A 9ish Mile Hike.

This is a 9 ish mile loop with two overlooks, some attractive trail, a few rocks, some roots, a bit of mud, a chartreuse outhouse and a cave. What more could one want?

The Pinnacle and Pulpit is one of the more popular area hikes. It has enough elevation to keep it interesting. I would like to keep moving at something close to 2.5 miles an hour overall.

Expect a brief stop at the Pinnacle (or is it the Pulpit? I can't keep them straight.) to admire the view. Lunch stops are generally observed on the hikes of others. Please come intending to keep up with the group. Some experience hiking up hills at pace is assumed. This is a absolutely terrible option for a first hiking experience.

Consider boots high or low, water and calories for four or so hours in the woods, cookies, crayons (whatever) and a pleasant demeanor. Medical issues - let me know. Fully charged mobiles are an asset. Hopefully the yellow jacket population is dwindling.

There are no facilities at the trail head and only the aforementioned chartreuse outhouse along the way.
Cell service is decent. Alternate parking is available along the access road if the lot is full. Mind the drainage ditch. The first left into the lot is not friendly to low slung vehicles, use the second. While you are encouraged to sign up on the AMC website, please sign up on Meetup if possible as it allows for rapid dissemination of information, associates an image with your name, allows me to guess how often you hike, and let's your fellow hikers know who is coming. If I don't know you, please give me a method of communication.

Wx forecast of rain 50% or greater causes concern. Check Meetup or text/phone leader. I will cancel the hike at least 3 hours in advance if necessary. Expect error on the side of caution. Questions/concerns 484-919-6000.
