You don’t have to summit Western Maine or Northern NH white mountain 4,000-footers for 360-degree views of both. Instead, join us for a fun day-hike up the Rumford Whitecap (aka Whitecap Mt). This is a moderately challenging 5.3 mile lollypop which includes a long, rocky summit with stunning views connecting the Mahoosuc Range, White Mountains, Androscoggin River Valley, and the Mexico Hills.

Features:

  • Rumford Whitecap Mountain Preserve and Ellis River Conservation Area
  • 130-Acre bald “whitecap” summit with panoramic views
  • Navigation through Maine’s largest red pine woodland
  • 2,214ft of elevation makes for a moderately challenging day hike with panoramic views
  • Practice with gear suitable for various winter settings

Notes: Given its still winter season micro-spikes, snow shoes and other winter gear may be needed, but gear shouldn’t be a barrier to joining this activity. If you’re missing something, please contact the trip leader. MEETING LOCATION SHARED UPON CONFIRMATION FROM LEADERS!
