Insight into AppSec World Panel - OWASP Melb x AISA Vic Collab Meetup

In collaboration with AISA Victoria, we're meeting in person to bring you an AppSec Panel discussion. This event will be in-person and RSVP only due to venue safety requirements. You MUST RSVP to attend. If you're unable to attend, please release your RSVP so that others may attend.
Join us in this panel discussion if you:
- Are starting out in security and want to understand what AppSec is.
- Are interested in the pathways to get into an AppSec role and career prospects.
- Wish to gain some insights into the real-world AppSec challenges from the experienced AppSec experts and the community.
- Meet & greet the local AppSec community
The panel discussion will be moderated by the AISA Victorian Branch Chair Michael McKinnon.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panel, and networking drinks with light refreshments will be served during the event.

Panel Members
Louis Nyffenegger is a security engineer based in Melbourne, Australia. He used to perform pentest, architecture and code review. Louis is the founder of PentesterLab, a learning platform for web penetration testing.
Nang Tip is the deputy chair of AISA Victoria and an AppSec Security Lead from the Bureau of Statistics. Nang has a keen interest in building diversity in Cybersecurity and volunteers her time to mentor others in the industry.
Gyle dela Cruz is a DFIR (Digital Forensics & Incident Response) specialist based in Melbourne, Australia. She is a co-lead for the OWASP Melbourne chapter and frequently volunteers for different community-based infosec activities. She’s a member of AISA.
Daniel Ting is the chapter lead for OWASP Melbourne, project co-lead for the OWASP How to Get into AppSec Project, member of OWSAP's Education committee, and contributor to the OWASP Application Security Curriculum. From a user experience design, data science and solutions architecture background, they pivoted into information security. They have helped provide various organisations advisory and assurance of application and product security, security architecture, and more in a people-centric manner.
