#1 Applied AI Meetup IBK

For the first edition of the Applied AI meetup in Innsbruck, we invited three startups in the field: Kjero (DeepOpinion), Swarm Analytics and Motion Metrics. They will shortly present what problem they solve with AI and showcase their applications. You will have the chance to get hands-on experience and there will be time to network, discuss and ask questions. We will provide food and drinks. The pre-requirement for participating is to be registered at the Meetup group and the event.

19:00 Talk 1: Collaborative experimentation & optimization of machine learning pipelines as a team: A structured approach (Alexander Rietzler, Kjero/DeepOpinion)

How to turn experimental machine learning (ML) code into a framework where a team of data scientists can collaborate on improving the ML model without losing track of experiments and rerunning all the code every time a pipeline step changes? We will show how we integrate a natural language processing (NLP) pipeline for aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) of user reviews with the data version control (DVC) tool.

19:10 Talk 2: Have you ever tried to fit a big cat in a small box? (Georg Westner, Swarm Analytics)

Current DL model architectures for object detection are way too big and cannot run efficiently on resource-constrained hardware. We approach this problem with hardware-aware model design and low-precision computing.

19:20 Talk 3: Optimising and scaling our portable data pipeline (Pruthvikar Reddy, Motion Metrics)

A brief overview of our data pipeline, used in both for development and production, that we that we rolled out on mobile and on our backend. With some details on how we optimised and scaled it to process terabytes of data faster.
