Computers are continually changing and so are the ways we interact with them. Mouse and keyboard are already being replaced by more intuitive interfaces like speech, touch and motion. Technologies leveraging speech recognition algorithms are helping us declare remote controls nostalgic objects of the past. Previous IoTHackDay 2016 Prize Winner Pejman Ghorbanzade (https://devpost.com/ghorbanzade) will take us through his project, Swish (https://github.com/ghorbanzade/swish) which provides a reliable touchless interface based on hand motions.

Assistive Technology for the visually impaired has come a long way since the Braille typewriter. In today's world of intelligent voice assistants, smart homes and gesture detection wearables, it is comforting to know that technology will always make life easier for you. Madhu Tennakoon (https://www.linkedin.com/in/madhu-tennakoon-b5a6ab136/) will show us his IoTHackDay2017 project (https://www.linkedin.com/in/madhu-tennakoon-b5a6ab136/), Project Deep See (https://devpost.com/software/project-deep-see), which aims to use scene recognition to help the visually impaired see and understand the world around them.
