Apprenticeship Gateway to the Green Economy

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Raquel Pinderhughes will be joining us on Wednesday March 26 (4:30 to 5:30 pm PDT) to speak about her groundbreaking apprenticeship program that prepares youth and adults for "green" careers and gives them the tools to improve environmental conditions in their communities.

Raquel's Roots of Success initiative features federally registered DOL apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships that have served participants from high schools, youth programs, adult schools, reentry programs, prisons, jails and juvenile facilities. Since 2009, Roots of Success has prepared 28,000 youth and adults, including 13,000 incarcerated individuals, for jobs and career pathways in the water, waste, transportation, energy, food, and open space sectors.
