We'll continue with the format we've been using since switching to virtual: a "social hour" starting at 2pm, followed by dedicated time to study the craft. Ars longa, vita brevis!

From now through October, the shared reference we'll be focusing on is Claude Shannon's revolutionary work in information theory, "A Mathematical Theory of Communication." You can find it here: http://people.math.harvard.edu/~ctm/home/text/others/shannon/entropy/entropy.pdf
We're not following a strict schedule, for reading this, but it seems likely we'll all be able to get through it by Halloween or so. Please share your questions and insights from this reading!

We're using Google Meet. The link to join is available when you RSVP.

Also, bring whatever cool mathy art or projects you're working on. This is the correct audience to appreciate your rigorous and/or creative self-expression. :D
