Arabs in Glasgow
A friendly community for Arabs living in Glasgow and the surrounding areas to meet, build friendships, and enjoy social and cultural activities together.
The group is open to both women and men but events may have different formats depending on the activity. These could include:
Women-only or men-only social meetups
Larger community gatherings
Walks, hikes, meals and cultural activities
Family-friendly or respectfully organised mixed events
Marriage-focused events when we have more growing members
The format and expectations for each meetup will always be clearly stated in the event description. For some mixed activities, members may be encouraged to attend with a friend, family member, spouse or mahram if that makes them feel more comfortable.
The aim is to create a welcoming community that respects Islamic and Arab cultural values while allowing members to choose the events that suit them.
I will initially organise the activities and may look for a reliable male co-organiser to help manage future men’s events and support the wider community.
Whether you are new to Glasgow or have lived here for years, you are welcome to join. Please treat everyone with kindness, respect and appropriate boundaries.
