What we’re about
The idea behind of this group is to share our passion for the city of Porto, in that space wherein its history can be seen and perceived in the cobbles under our feet and the buildings that have witnessed countless lives for countless generations. In the words of the Italian Italo Calvino "the city doesn't let go of its past, it keeps it like the lines of one's hand, keeps it written in street corners, in the railings of windows, in the bannisters of stairways, in flag poles, in lightning rods and skylights.. And which one with its own marks, cuts and engravings. A story within the story."
Therefore we seek out to discover, to uncover Porto, to find its soul, it's monumentality and its mundane lives. So, we organize city tours every now and then, touching a different corner of the city, a different narrative. Do join us!
You can also find us on facebook @ArchitectoursPorto where we try to publish little albuns and notes of this not too secret city.

Levadas de Jugueiros & Monastery of Pombeiro
Location not specified yet🌿 Lace up your boots. Nature is calling.
This time, we go further afield, setting out some 35 miles (60km) northeast of Porto to do something a little different. Tucked away in the hills surrounding Felgueiras, the Levadas de Jugueiros invite us on a journey through nature, history, and tranquillity. We will follow the serene waterways once used for irrigation, now transformed into scenic trails perfect for amateur hikers and more energetic explorers.
Walk under the shade of ancient trees, listen to the soothing sounds of flowing water, and breathe in the fresh countryside air. Along the way, uncover charming bridges, rustic mills, medieval roads and breathtaking landscapes that make this route a true hidden gem of Northern Portugal.
Whether you're seeking peace, adventure, or the perfect photo spot — Levadas de Jugueiros might be that something off the beaten track you're looking for.
Distance just a little over 9km / 5,6 miles – easy to intermediate, we do not need great energy or stamina to cover these. Still, it’s a trail nonetheless, might be somewhat slippery here and there, a little uneven here and there but no high climbs nor dizzying lows, thus we’ve allocated some 4h00 hours to cover it in a leisurely place. No special gear is needed, just comfortable clothes and adequate footwear, (of course, if you’re not the most sure-footed individual, a trekking pole is always advisable - this is a natural setting.
Then, we’re off to Pombeiro for an altogether different experience!
The Monastery of Santa Maria de Pombeiro is more than a monument — it’s a portal to Portugal’s medieval soul. Founded over 900 years ago, this magnificent Benedictine monastery is one of the crown jewels of the Rota do Românico, (Romanesque Heritage Route) where history, architecture, and serenity converge. From ancient cloisters to ornate chapels, every corner invites wonder and reflection.
