Porto Sense of Place - From Downtown to Dragão

This time around we want to cross from the very city centre to Estádio do Dragão, three year ago we did the oppposite route, time to check what remains the same, what has changed and how all this is coming together.

As a sense of place tour, rather than something laden with commentary, where we trace the layout, the history, the architecture, the sprawl of the city and what being a Portonian across the centuries, here the narrative is different, it's the streets themselves that are in the limelight, well, better said, the lanes and alleys that make the true underbelly of Porto. Though not pedestrianized, they eschew most vehicle traffic, thus making a very pleasant domestic experience, lined by small lots and all sorts of kinks and nooks, some to be expected others not at all. Although the turning of phrase might be interpreted in manifold ways, this is Porto at its most intimate (urban) experience.

Furthermore, the astonishing factor and the most appealing one at the same time, is that these places are located right in the centre of the city.

Tour Language: ENGLISH (will not burden you much with commentary, the aim truly is walking and seeing this Porto 2.0 unfold in front of us)

Time: 16h00-18h00 (before nightfall, but still catching most of that that golden hour)
Meeting point (entrance of Metro Bolhão - right at Rua Alexandre Braga (the pedestrian street)
End point: Estádio do Dragão
Distance: 3.5km
Price: €15 ( free for children), we're always there a few minutes before the starting time to do the check-in/payment.
