Primera Meetup de Big Data de 2021

Buenas!
El jueves 23/09 vamos a estar organizando la primera Meetup de este año nuevamente en modalidad online.

Como es costumbre en esta Meetup, nos enfocamos en speakers que nos puedan experiencias construyendo sistemas de datos.

Tendremos las siguientes charlas:

Title: Building a Data Platform that servers 1,000+ developers
Speakers: Esteban Donato, Federico Barabasch (Wildlife Studios)
Description: In this presentation we want to share our experience building a Data Platform at Wildlife Studios with the goal of democratizing the access and management of our data to 1,000+ users between developers, data scientists, data analysts and other roles. We are going to explore the rationale behind our decision, our new data strategy and next steps in this journey. We are going to cover some interesting topics like DX (Developer Experience) and Customer Centricity and how we approached the development of the Data Platform as if it was a product. Last but not least we are going to cover some emerging topics in the data world like Data Mesh and Data Observability.

Title: Simplifying Data Lake storage with DeltaLake
Speaker: Damian Valdamarin (Mutt Data)
Description: Building a Data Lake's storage layer comes with some typical challenges like lack of upserts, concurrent writes, versioning, schema evolution, etc. But DeltaLake is here! We will see how this technology helps us simplify the daily tasks of any {data, ml} engineer. We will show an example of how to use DeltaLake with a 100% Open Source stack based on Apache Spark to show that DeltaLake is not only useful when you are using Databricks to power your Data Lake.
