Improvers - stage I
Have you ever done a Tango class?

This class is for beginners who have done their first steps. If you have done our 6-week beginners series - perfect. Otherwise ask me and or just turn up for the beginners and we can see where you fit.
We will go deeper into the basics and give you a really solid base, work on your walk in a couple, work on the individual technique of each role, learn more about the embrace and add in musicality. You will get to play around with simple, well known structures which are used to teach movement concepts for the lead and follow.
My goal for you is to have a nice walk, whilst giving and receiving a lovely embrace, to the music (we will add other things), I will also help you practice.
We will break concepts down and rebuild them, using the techniques that you are being taught, so that you learn to improvise, not just add structure A to structure B
When?
19:30 every Monday. A beginners class is after, which would be good for you to stay (additional small cost)
There is a Prática after both lessons till 23:30/00:00 which starts at 21:45 and is free for those who attend the class
Cost?
10€ per person (Loyalty Cards Available)
- I will ask you to swap roles. This is not so that I can teach you both roles, but so that you can feel what it is that your partner is trying to transmit (both lead and follow)

• I will not assign you a dance role based on your gender. You choose what you want to dance. Not me
• I will ask you to practise after the class between you and your peers. I will provide you the space and the music, you need to be the master of your own education here!

English and Portuguese spoken - Language will depend on who is in the class.

The class is always on unless cancelled here - if you are coming for the first time - please be in the peace of mind, there is always people in the class. Meetups is not the only route to inscribe

Tango is a walking dance and for those that think you have 2 left feet, this is the dance for you.
I truly believe that without complicating the dance, we can get you dancing socially in a milonga. Once you start dancing, then we can up the skill level and complexity.

Mondays at 20:45
All lessons will be guided to both the leaders and the followers responsibilities in the dance
Including:
-3 basic pillars to dance
-Concepts of leading and following
-The Embrace
-Walking as a couple
-How to dance turning corners
-Basics of Musicality and Improvisation

Is this for me?
If you have no experience what-so-ever in in dance, Tango, music or freestyling but you can walk, then this is for you. All we need is your energy and willing.
If you have a little experience of Tango and want to immerse yourself in the basics.

What do I need to wear?
Anything comfortable. Sneakers are fine, the less grippy, the better, but really not important at this stage. If you have dance shoes or sneakers, this too is great.

How much will it cost me?
You can drop-in, that is totally fine or pay for 6-weeks and get a discount.
€45 for the 6 weeks. I advise that you do all 6 weeks if you are starting or returning. You will get the most out of this course by completing the series.
€10 per class per person - drop in.

Who am I?
I am Dani (she/her) and I started dancing in 2012 with the express view to do shows. That didn't happen because I fell in love with social tango. My teachers were Portuguese and I moved here to be closer to them at that time. Now I am teaching beginners whilst still following my own path of discovery. I also DJ and organise some Tango events
Language will be based on the people attending.
