DevOpsDays Aarhus - Conference warm up

Details
The DevOpsDays Aarhus 2022 conference takes place in a few weeks. And it’s gonna be awesome! Two full days of great talks, speakers, lightning talks and open space discussions. And most important - We get to meet in person again!
We want to help kick off DevOpsDays Aarhus 2022 with a meetup! We have invited some of our friends to present at this pre-conference meetup that takes places the day before the conference on April 25. From 19.00 to 22.00. We want to try something different this time. We will meet a bit later than usually. Uber will be hosting the meetup and there will be served snacks, soft drinks and beer.
We hope to see many of you at DevOpsDays Aarhus 2022 on April 26 - 27. You can read everything about the conference and buy tickets here: https://devopsdays.org/events/2022-aarhus/welcome/

TALK 1:
“Home (not) Alone. WFH with colleagues and customers” - by Ewelina Wilkosz, Merkely
Two years ago many of us were forced to start working from home. It wasn't always easy.
Fast forward to 2022 and - for some - remote work became the new normal. How to make the best of it? I have no silver bullet but can tell what works for me
TALK 2:
“Avoiding CPU Throttling in a Containerized Environment ” - by Joakim Recht, Uber
In this talk we'll present how we made it possible to reduce CPU allocations by 11% and achieve significantly lower P99 latencies by changing the way the Linux kernel allocates CPU time.
TALK 3:
“On building platforms, and the herding of pet turtles” - by Mads Høgstedt Danquah, Reload
Kubernetes is often referred to as a platform for building platforms. Reload has built two such platforms over the last years. One for the Copenhagen Municipality, and one for the Danish Public Libraries. While the two implementations share a lot of goals, such as supporting the development and operation of hundreds of websites, we’ve taken different approaches to reaching those goals. Eg. one platform is built from the ground up while the other is built on the web application delivery platform Lagoon.
In this talk Mads who is the lead architect on both platforms describes the experience of implementing the two, and weighs some of the pros and cons of bespoke platforms vs COTS.
