Hi! I’m planning a trip to Guatemala, flying out after work on Friday, December 5, and returning on Tuesday, December 16. The rough estimate for the trip is around $630 per person, not including the roundtrip flight. If anyone’s interested in joining me, please DM me so we can chat more about it. Itinerary:
Friday, December 5:

• Fly to Guatemala City on a late flight, arriving Saturday morning.

Saturday, December 6:

• Arrive.
• Take private shuttle to Lanquin (5hrs and 30 min).
• Check into hotel.

Sunday, December 7:

• Explore Lanquin cave and Semuc Champey.

Monday, December 8:

• Check out.
• Travel to Antigua.
• Check in and explore.

Tuesday, December 9:

• Check out.
• Meet our guide to hand over our luggage and begin our backpacking trip.*

*Details about the trek:
• Miles: 28.5 miles; about 9 miles a day.
• Highest Elevation Point: 10,000 feet.
• what’s included: A guide, lodging (homestays), food, and purified drinking water throughout the trip.

Wednesday, December 10:

• Day two of backpacking trip.

Thursday, December 11:

• Last day of backpacking.
• Check into hotel.
• Explore San Pedro La Laguna.

Lake Atitlan is known for its charming villages. Some recommended villages to visit include San Pedro-where we plan to stay, San Juan, San Marcos, and Santa Catarina. There seems to be a ton of activities to explore: museums, weaving workshops, black sand beach, food tours, short hikes, street art, chocolate-making tours, and cute coffee shops. Those who choose to join this trip will need to book their own tours for Thursday & Friday.

Friday, December 12:

• Explore other villages.

Saturday, December 13.

• Check out.
• Head back to Antigua.
• Check in.

Sunday, December 14:

• Meet our guide to begin our trek to Acatenango volcano Basecamp.
• Overnight camp.

Monday, December 15:

• Hike out.
• Head back to Antigua.

Tuesday, December 16:

• Check out.
• Take private shuttle to airport (2 hrs).
• Fly home.
