Camping and hiking at Kodachrom Basin State Park

I reserved the group campsite Oasis at Kodachrom Basin State Park, a multi-colored marvel of nature, for 5 nights from March 4th to March 9th, 2026.
Panorama Trail, 6 miles long, at Kodachrom Basin State Park, is one of the signature hikes in Southern Utah. It weaves among 67 colorful monolithic stone spires, called sedimentary pipes.
Kathy and Craigin Kopeland, in their book "Wow Guides: Utah Canyon Country," suggest hiking Willis Creek Narrows, 4.8 miles, and Lick Wash, 8 miles, in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument if the weather permits. Another option is to hike Red Canyon and Pine Creek. I am working on our itinerary.
