Venture into New Mexico's Gila Wilderness for a hike to what has been called one of the most beautiful hot springs in the Southwest. This is a moderate hike with a big, wonderful payoff: spectacular scenery, fantastic camping spots and nature's own hot tub .You can even catch trout in the Middle Fork of the Gila.

Mileage: 14-17 mile lollipop loop

Weather: Expect highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's.
Plan: Meet in Tempe (secure parking at my work), gather up carpools and drive to Silver City, NM. Car camp Thursday night in the Gila Hot springs campgrounds. Hike in Friday and hike out sunday before heading back to Phoenix.
