AMC Canyoneering - Half Dilly (Sedona, AZ)

If you're new to canyoneering, it's a mix of hiking, orienteering, and rappelling. In my opinion, Sedona offers the best introductory canyons in the country. We will be doing Half Dilly, which most agree is the "biggest bang for the buck" canyon off Bear Mountain.

Overview
The hike up will involve about 1,100 feet of elevation gain and 4 rappels (R1 20', R2 30', R3 95', and R4 170'). You may be asked to take a turn carrying a rope. Before our first rappel, we can scramble up the break in the rocks to get a view of the Fay Canyon Arch.

Requirements:

• AMC Member
• Waiver on File
• Completed Basic Outdoor Rock Climbing School (or equivalent)
• Comfortable in warm weather
