The only suggestions I had were Willow Springs Lake so that is what we will do. We'll be camping at the Rim Campground which is very close to the lake. The itinerary will be as follows:

Friday: arrive and set up camp. I'll host a happy hour at my campsite (SITE # 15) with food and drinks. I'll have food ready by 6:00 pm but feel free to come by earlier if you are ready or swing by later whenever you arrive.

Saturday: we'll paddle Willow Springs Lake. Let's meet at the boat ramp at 8:00 am to get on the water before it gets crowded.

Sunday: we can do another paddle in the morning if anyone is interested before heading home.

Camping: At the Rim campground (Rim Campground - Google Maps), half the sites are reservable, and the other half first come first serve. The cost is $20 per night. I took the last reservable site for the entire weekend; there are a couple of sites that have just Saturday night available for reservation. The campgrounds often fill up over the weekend so I will get there a day early and try to save spots for people. My suggestion is to get here as early as possible Friday just in case. If they run out of sites, no problem! Just over two miles down the road is the Sinkhole campground and within 5 miles of that is Colcord Ridge Campground and F171 campground. If all else fails, this is National Forest and you are allowed to have dispersed camping. I have read that there are spots to find near F171.

REMEMBER:
The AZ sun is strong and the reflection off the water makes it more so. Use plenty of sunscreen, reapply on the way down, don't forget to cover the tops of your feet and your ears and every other exposed surface. Wear a hat and sunglasses. Drink lots of fluids. If you are going to consume alcohol, drink responsibly.
