What we’re about
Hello! This is a group for people in their 30s and 40s in and around Arlington (Somerville, Medford, Waltham, Burlington, Woburn, etc.) who are interested in making new social connections!
We would love to meet you at one of our events! The group relies on members to suggest and organize events*, some of which have included dinners, hikes, game nights, book clubs, concerts, and more. If you have an idea for a Meetup, please message the organizers!
*We really appreciate members who open up their home to host events and want folks to feel comfortable doing so. Hence, we ask new members to attend one of our public events prior to RSVP-ing to events held at a private residence.
Attendance policy: Plans change, stuff happens. We definitely understand, so please let the host/organizer know by updating your RSVP. On the other hand, no-shows are inconsiderate and disrespectful to the host/organizer, as well as other attendees. Repeated no-shows may result in removal from future events and from the group itself.
The Arlington 30-and 40- somethings Meetup group is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion. That each member should feel safe and respected at each event is of utmost value to us. If any of our members have an experience at one of our events that does not align with this policy, we encourage you to bring it to the attention of the Leadership team so that it may be addressed it in a timely manner.
----------
The continued running of this Meetup group is made possible by the generous contributions from fellow members. If you enjoy our events and would like to support us, please contact a member of the Leadership team. All member contributions go towards paying the Meetup fees for running the group (approx $198 +tax per year). Thank you!

Arlington-Area 30/40's: New Member Brunch!
Menotomy Grill & Tavern, 25 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, USPlease only RSVP if you're able to attend! I'll make a reservation ahead of time, and want to give the restaurant an accurate number.
Once every 3 months or so, I thought it would be a fun idea to get new-ish members together and get to know each other. I'd be interested in hearing what you're looking for from this group, and we can spend some time discussing that. If you've joined the group recently (past 6 months or so), or have never attended a past event, please feel free to join us!
We went to Menotomy Grill last time, and it was good food and easy to get to, so I thought we'd could do it here again: https://www.menotomygrill.com/
Meeting new people can be hard, and if you're a little nervous -- remember: We're all starting from the same place and here for the same reason! Let me know if I can do anything to help ahead of time.
Parking
Parking in Arlington is easy -- most streets have metered 2 hour parking, and side-streets are usually free (follow the signage of course). There's also a small lot next to the restaurant. If you have any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Arlington 30/40's Bowls at Sacco's in Davis
Sacco's Bowl Haven, 45 Day Street, Somerville, MA, USAs the weather is getting a little colder, I thought it might be fun to meet up at Sacco's to play candle-pin bowling (and grab some great pizza if you're interested).
Since I need to make a reservation, please only RSVP if you can make it. It's very difficult if we have no-shows, especially because the price would go up per-person. If you've no-show'd in the past, please join us at another event before RSVPing to a reserved-event.
I've reserved 2 lanes for 12 people. Bowling is $78 per lane, and will cost $13 per-person, shoes $4, plus whatever food/drink you purchase. You can pay me for the lane in-person. The lane's are full-service (Food/drink) for us to enjoy while there.
Join us, get to know some of your community, and have fun while doing it!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Getting There
Davis square is right along the red line T, and is also serviced by the 77 bus that goes between Arlington and Harvard. In addition to metered street parking on Mass Ave and Holland St., there are two main paid lots: Buena Vista Lot and the lot off Day St. Off-peak, you can usually find availability in one of these areas.
Another option is to park at the garage at Alewife (which has plentiful parking), and take the red line train 1 stop inbound and get off at Davis Square station. Make sure to budget time for this option.
If you’re coming from Arlington, and are interested in biking in the nicer weather, let me know! The minuteman bike trail goes straight to the square.
