What we’re about
The purpose of this group is to use a technique called cognitive input to promote language exchange. The technique focuses on acquiring a new language through listening and speaking, much the way everyone learns their first language. There will be no books and will not focus on any one language. The techniques relies on building a vocabulary by speaking with fluent speakers and associating words with pictures and hand gestures. Book grammar is largely ignored until the vocabulary grows and simple conversations can be maintained.
Anyone interested in learning and/or teaching a language through simple conversation is encouraged to join.
Events will not be scheduled in mass at this time. Members interested in each other's languages are encouraged to own their experiences and coordinate their own meetings. This group is intended to be a platform for people to find each other. All that I ask is that everyone stick to the cognitive input method and report back if this method produces positive results.
