Greetings, fellow O'Neillians. Our meetings are back! Since we ran out of plays a few months ago, I've communicated with various members who miss our monthly discussions. We decided that it would be fun to switch things up and discuss film versions of O'Neill's plays. Since the next international event for EOS will be in LA, these discussions may provide fodder for a presentation or two.

Our first discussion will focus on the 1932 version of Strange Interlude. Many people don't care for this movie - stuffing a nine-act play into two hours certainly isn't optimal. Still, the movie bears serious discussion. Love it or hate it, this is an interesting pre-code film that, in spite of its flaws, deals with controversial topics that never would have been permitted to be discussed in a U.S. film two years later. Plus, there is no denying its star power.

I hope you can join us at 8:00 Eastern on Tuesday, April 7 for what is sure to be a lively discussion. The film is available on YouTube, Prime, Google Play, and Apple TV for $3.99.
