"Philosophy" meetup - Celebration

This topic strays a bit more into anthropology than philosophy, but with the holiday season it might be interesting to examine the concept of celebration. Some questions to consider:

• Why do we celebrate?
• What function does celebration have in a society?
• What benefits/drawbacks are there to celebration?
• What is the function of ritual in celebration?

Please join us every other Saturday for a casual
philosophical discussion. Most weeks we will preselect a topic and add suggested readings, but some weeks will be open discussion. These meetings are lightly facilitated and open to anyone who likes to discuss life's fundamental questions.
