Philosophy meetup - Community building
Details
The topic of today's discussion will be around community building, not as an action but from a philosophical standpoint. What underlying beliefs, norms, and structures should a successful community have? What place does conflict have in a community? Should a community be inclusive or exclusive?
I encourage everyone to spend some time doing their own reading and to put some thought into this topic. Opening question for this session will be around what you've learned about successful community either from experience or through research .
Please join us every other Saturday for a casual
philosophical discussion. Most weeks we will preselect a topic and add suggested readings, but some weeks will be open discussion. These meetings are lightly facilitated and open to anyone who likes to discuss life's fundamental questions.
Group guidelines
*All perspectives are welcome
- Everyone has an opportunity to speak and listen
*Dialogue is respectful and open - No prior philosophical knowledge required!
