ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Yerevan – Transfer to hotel - Yerevan City tour – Ararat Cognac Factory
Arrival at the Yerevan airport.
Transfer to the hotel.

You are going to have an unforgettable overall city tour in Yerevan. Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia, and one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. In 2018 Yerevan celebrated its 2800th anniversary.

Visit to Ararat Cognac factory, where you will taste varieties of Armenian cognac.

Welcome dinner in a typical Armenian restaurant with Armenian folk music and dance.

Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2: Yerevan – Khor Virap– Areni – Noravank – Yerevan
Yerevan. Breakfast in the hotel.
Drive to Ararat region.

Visit Khor Virap monastery - Armenian Apostolic Church monastery located in the Ararat valley. It is the most visited pilgrimage site in Armenia.

Drive to Vayots Dzor region, visit Noravank - a 13th century Armenian monastery.

Head to village Areni. Here the most ancient winery in the world Areni-1 is located. This winery had been discovered as a result of excavations done in 2007-2008.

After visiting the cellar, have lunch in a local cave restaurant carved into the rock.

Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3: Yerevan – Sevan –Sevanavank – Tsaghkunk - Goshavank –Dilijan
Yerevan. Breakfast in the hotel.
Visit Sevan Lake, the "blue-eyed beauty" of Armenia. Being one of the biggest highland freshwater lakes in the world it is 1900 m above sea level.

Moving to the neighboring village of Tsaghkunk, where an authentic and colorful home restaurant is located. Have lunch in a restaurant, where you will enjoy a master class on fish dish.

Drive to Tavush region, Dilijan town. It is famous for its amazing surroundings, called the "Armenian Switzerland" due to its densely forested valleys and mountains with alpine meadows.

Visit Goshavank - 12th-13th century Armenian monastery.

Overnight in Dilijan.

Day 4: Dilijan – Fioletovo - Amberd – Saghmosavank – Van Ardi– Yerevan
Dilijan. Breakfast in the hotel.
Head to Filoletovo, a village where Molokans live. There will be organized tea drinking with Slavonic pies in one of the local houses.

Drive to Aragatsotn region where Mount Aragats is located. This is the highest peak of Armenia (4090 m). Here at an altitude of 2300 m above sea level the fortress Amberd is situated (8th c). Amberd is one of the rare witnesses of Armenian military architecture of the Middle Ages.

Visit Saghmosavank - 13 th century monastic complex. Saghmosavank is situated atop the precipitous gorge carved by the Kasakh river.

On your way to Yerevan, you will have lunch in a local guesthouse.

Visit Van Ardi Winery. With a tour across the estate, you’ll experience and taste how authentic Armenian wine is made.

Drive to Yerevan. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 5: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard - Echmiadzin – Maran - Yerevan
Yerevan. Breakfast in the hotel.
Drive to Kotayk region.

Visit Monastery Geghard - one of the most famous medieval monasteries in Armenia. The complex of medieval buildings was completely carved out of the rock cliff. It is included in the UNESCO World Cultural heritage List.

Open-air museum of Garni pagan temple, our second stop, is the only surviving monument of the Hellenistic period in Armenia. Garni pagan temple has unique design and is the only type of pagan temple across the Caucasus and the former Soviet Union.

In the village of Garni lunch will be held in the house of the local peasant. In the courtyard of the house you will also have an opportunity to watch the process of baking Armenian bread - lavash (inscribed in UNESKO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity).

Heading to Armavir region.
Visit Echmiadzin - the spiritual centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians. Visit the Mother Cathedral of Holy Echmiadzin - the first Christian church in the whole world. Since 2000, it is a UNESCO world heritage site.

On the way, check in to the village Musaler, where the wine cellar Maran is located. Tasting of 6 types of Armenian wine with lavash (Armenian traditional bread) and different types of Armenian cheese.

Day 6: Yerevan / Free day
Yerevan. Breakfast in the hotel.
Free day.
Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7: Yerevan / Departure
Transfer to the Yerevan Airport.
Departure from Yerevan.
