Spicy Hikes around Bend (Paulina Peak)

Let's get our steps in…vertically!!! Lace up your hiking boots and join me for a spicy hike on the Paulina Peak Trail, a moderately challenging hike with steep climbs to the highest point of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. It features stunning views of Bend and the Sisters Volcano Complex. This hike is open to anyone who enjoys exploring the great outdoors. We will move at a moderate pace with several opportunities to rest and drink water.

The trailhead is located about 45 minutes south of Bend in La Pine. If you’re interested in carpooling, message me! We’ll meet outside of the Paulina Visitor Center @ 9 AM. If you're running late, shoot me a message on Meetup.

Please be aware that there is a small entrance fee of $5 per vehicle per day. Some acceptable passes include Northwest Forest Pass and America the Beautiful Pass. Senior, military, and access passes are also acceptable. Double check USDA website if you’re unsure about your pass!

What to bring: stellar pair of hiking boots/walking shoes, plenty of water, snacks, trekking poles (optional), binoculars (if you have them!)
