Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?

The title of this meetup comes from feminist critic Linda Nochlin's 1971 essay of the same name. She posed her admittedly provocative question to bring attention to women's accomplishments in art history. Her answer encompasses the nature of genius, the economics of artistic production and the ways aesthetic standards are shaped.
