Exhibition Review Club for Artists Second Meeting

Hi everyone,
For our Second meeting, we are going to start off by discussing three exhibitions currently showing in Toronto.
1.) MOCA – Alex Da Corte “Ear Worm” – September 8 to January 26

3.) AGO – Pacita Abad “Pacita Abad" A retrospective of her work. October 9 to January 19 https://ago.ca/exhibitions/pacita-abad

4.) Also, Honoré has generously said that he would give us a view of some of his own work, and his experiences.

We should have time at each meeting if a member wants to discuss their own work with the group. Primarily, however, we are meeting to review exhibitions currently in display in Toronto.

If you are in Toronto, please visit the exhibitions before our meeting in January. If you are not in Toronto, you can use the internet to find the artists and their work.

A few guidelines for our meetings:
1.) Please come prepared to discuss your thoughts, concerns, both positive and negative, about the exhibitions chosen for discussion.
2.) Please do tell us if you were inspired by what you saw, and if it has stimulated you to do something new in your own work.
3.) We will start by going around the circle to let everyone give their review before we open up the conversation to the whole group. The organizer will show a brief slide show of photos taken at the exhibitions under discussion before we each give our comments.
4.) In order to create a welcoming atmosphere for the exchange of ideas, we ask that everyone respond by first acknowledging how they agree, at least in part, with the ideas they've heard from another member, before going on to discuss where they do not agree.
5.) Further regarding how we will make the meetings feel welcoming, we ask that everyone have their cameras turned on during the meeting, unless this is not possible. If this is uncomfortable, we ask that everyone at least turn their camera on to say hello to everyone else at the beginning of the meeting.
