Join us for a relaxed and culturally rich day in Muiden, one of the most charming and underrated towns just outside Amsterdam. Located along the tranquil Vecht River, Muiden offers the perfect blend of historical atmosphere, scenic canals, and Dutch countryside beauty — ideal for a summer Sunday escape.

👣 What’s the plan?
We’ll start with a walking tour of the village, where we’ll explore the cobblestone streets, picturesque canals, and the peaceful harbor. From quaint architecture to Muiden’s nautical charm, it’s a perfect way to soak in the slower pace of this historical gem.

After our stroll, we’ll visit the Muiderslot, one of the most beautifully preserved castles in the Netherlands. Dating back to the 13th century and surrounded by a moat, the Muiderslot looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale. If you have the Museumkaart, your entrance is free! You’ll be able to explore the towers, rooms, and gardens, and learn more about the castle’s dramatic history and famous guests.

🍺 To wrap up the day, we’ll stop by Café Ome Ko, a local institution housed in a monumental 18th-century building that has been serving visitors since 1810. Grab a beer (or two) on tap, enjoy a bite if you're hungry, and unwind together with a view of the boats sailing through the lock.
