A Magical Christmas Weekend in Alsace — Strasbourg

For the first day of our Christmas weekend in Alsace, we’ll explore Strasbourg, a city where French and German history, medieval streets, monumental architecture and Alsatian traditions all meet.

And, in December, a city that takes Christmas very seriously.

We’ll meet at 11:00 and spend the first part of the day discovering Strasbourg together on foot.

Rather than simply heading straight for the Christmas markets, we’ll first explore some of the history, architecture and stories behind the city itself — discovering the places that reveal Strasbourg’s long, layered and occasionally complicated past.

We’ll stop for lunch together somewhere along the way, before continuing our walk through the historic centre.

We expect the cultural part of the day to finish at approximately 15:00–15:30.

### 🎄 And then: Strasbourg at Christmas

From there, the afternoon becomes much more flexible.
Strasbourg is known as the Capital of Christmas, with markets, lights and decorations spread throughout the historic centre. It is also extremely popular — which means trying to move around all afternoon as one large group would probably be an adventure in itself.

So after the walk, everyone will be free to explore the Christmas markets at their own pace.

We may arrange an informal meeting point later in the evening for anyone who would like to regroup for food, drinks or more Christmas wandering, but we’ll keep that flexible and decide together on the day.

✨ Come for the city, stay for the Christmas lights — or get completely lost somewhere between the two.

### 👟 Practical information

Expect a fair amount of walking throughout the day, so comfortable shoes and warm clothes are strongly recommended.

Lunch, drinks and any personal purchases are paid individually.

The exact walking route — and where we stop along the way — will remain a surprise.
