Virtual art day - Experimenting with contrast in your paintings

Details
A day for you to do some art work, in the virtual company of others.
Sometimes it is hard to give ourselves the time for art. Here's a fun, social way that might help. It's also an opportunity to experiment outside your normal approach.
In a recent AfAS discussion we explored "contrast" in art. Now let's have a go ourselves. The idea is to use this as an opportunity to try out different styles and techniques which you wouldn't normally use. You can do a number of little experiments or try a single larger idea, or some combination of the two as you wish.
Preparation:
- Watch/review the videos from the previous discussion. Identify some techniques that you'd like to try out.

- Decide what you are going to apply these techniques to. Will you use a realistic scene or abstract? Will you have reference material (like photos) available or will you work purely intuitively?
On the day:
10:00: Zoom chat to say hello to your fellow artists, sharing your plans for the day and showing your painting set up.
10:30: Work independently.
12:30 Zoom chat over lunch, sharing what we've done so far. Positive feedback and encouragement.
13:30 Work independently
15:30 Tea and chat over progress during the day. What worked well, what caused problems - maybe others can offer helpful suggestions.
16:00 Close
I've limited places to 7 people so that we have enough time to discuss our work - but still leaving plenty of time for actual creative work, rather than talk!
