Bath Gallery & Cafe Crawl
Details
There's a lot of very good art for sale in Bath, and a tour of the galleries is always very rewarding and enjoyable. We'll meet at Clarendon Fine Art (used to be Whitewall) in New Bond Street, followed by Castle Fine Art. We can then visit some of the other many galleries - including probably Red Rag Gallery - until we feel like a coffee and a cake.
Clarendon (was Whitewall) is a particularly good gallery that we have enjoyed visiting before: "our Bath gallery extends over three large floors, all with their own historic features, serving as an unusual backdrop to our ever-changing exhibitions. The fascinating basement level still has its original Bath stone floor and walls, and a wealth of nooks for interesting displays of artwork. In contrast, the upper floors are light and spacious, and perfect for showing large collections of modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture, installations and experimental work."
From Castle Fine Art website: "The largest contemporary art gallery in Bath, Castle Fine Art is set in a beautiful Grade II listed building. With a dedicated exhibition space for art focuses and one of the largest permanent exhibitions of Bob Dylan artwork anywhere in the world, the gallery features well known names such as Johnny Depp and Billy Connolly. It's well worth a visit next time you are in the city, which is known for its historic Roman spa, and stately Georgian architecture."
