This group is for artists, creatives or anyone who has an appreciation for cultural arts.
We'll meet at various venues throughout the city to share our love and passion for the arts with individuals who have the same passion or just enjoy being around creatives.
Many events will have art, music, and live painting. We look forward to seeing you at our next meetup.

Ideal for the person who loves color and the distinctive look of hand-dyed fabric but doesn’t want to worry about preparing multiple dye solutions, or learning the science behind dyeing. Create a range of fabrics to use in your art, garments and quilting, and/or dye garments, vintage linens, trims and more as you learn to use an authentic indigo vat. Bring your own natural fabrics and clothing in silk, cotton, linen and rayon (indigo dye will not work on synthetic fibers). Shibori techniques such as arashi, ne-maki, itajime and kumo will be shown. Prepare your fabrics IN ADVANCE to explore Shibori Stitch Resist techniques. Create a one of a kind silk scarf — or use your silk as the source of beautiful pieces to frame or in other forms of art! — using the eco-printing method with botanical items and using Alum Acetate as the mordant and iron water as a modifier. There will be many beautiful colors to choose from for your multi-colored silk. Your registration fee includes the $30 kit fee providing the 8 in. x 72 in. silk scarf, eucalyptus leaves of varying kinds, chemicals and other necessary supplies. Students are asked to bring plenty of botanical items.

- Eco-Printing on Paper with Dyann Alery BlackArtistic Artifacts, Alexandria, VA
This quick paced class will leave you with several sheets of paper that have been eco-printed with various botanicals and dye colors. How to use them in your art is totally up to you — the possibilities are truly endless. Your registration fee includes the $30 kit fee providing the dye blankets as well as the paper (if time allows and you wish, Dyann will have extra paper to purchase), eucalyptus leaves of varying kinds, chemicals and other necessary supplies. Students are asked to bring inexpensive ceramic tiles and plenty of botanical items for printing. "As with my other eco-printing classes, we will work very quickly the first half of the day and then take a 60 minute break for lunch as the bundles process. You can use your class discount and do some fun shopping and/or enjoy your lunch at the little park just across the parking lot. After lunch is the reveal — Fun!
