Blue Sunday @ Museum Wiesbaden πŸ”΅
Diving into Blue with the Blue Riders

Hi everyone! This time it's all about blue. For the Blue Rider, blue was much more than a colour. Kandinsky called it the colour of the spiritual and the infinite, and Franz Marc painted his famous blue horses. The group even took its name from their shared love of blue. So let's spend a whole afternoon looking for it, sketching it and wearing it πŸ’™

We'll do this at Museum Wiesbaden. It holds the world's most important Jawlensky collection, and right now it's showing "Die Blauen Reiterinnen", the first ever exhibition about the women of the Blue Rider: Gabriele MΓΌnter, Marianne von Werefkin and ten more.

Our name isn't only about painting outdoors like the Impressionists. It's also a nod to the Blue Rider, who used bold, expressive colour to paint what they felt, not just what they saw.

The plan:
πŸ–ŒοΈ 14:00–15:00: Urban sketching in front of the museum. Theme: blue. Find it in the sky, the shadows, the facades, or in each other's outfits!
πŸ›οΈ 15:00–17:00: Together into the museum to discover the Blue Riders and their colours up close.

πŸ‘— Dress code: something blue! A scarf, a shirt, earrings, a hat, anything goes. Let's be a little Blue Rider ourselves for the day πŸ’™

πŸ“ Museum Wiesbaden, Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 2 (we meet at the main entrance)
πŸ—“οΈ Sunday, 8 November
🎟️ For the museum, everyone buys their own ticket: €12, reduced €9, under 18 free

What to bring: your favourite sketching materials and warm clothes for the outdoor part 🧣

All levels welcome, as always πŸ™Œ Afterwards, coffee and cake together for those who like ✨
