⌛“Past & Present”: CBD Sculpture Walk - 20+ Fascinating Artworks with Stories 🧭
Customs House, 31 Alfred Street, Circular Quay, AUNOTE: This event is posted on multiple Meetup groups.
ABOUT: Enjoy a walk around the artworks of CBD on Sunday, January 4. Come along whatever your professional background! Tech, finance, law, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, retail, fashion - whether you've engaged with art or not - all welcome. Feel at home.
This informative tour will introduce you to statues, fountains, installations and imagery commemorating important figures and events of Australian history. Learn about explorers, statesmen, royalty, women pioneers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander servicemen, indigenous clans of the region. The First Fleet, the World Wars, the development of Sydney, local bird species, and more!
Introduce yourself to each other, exchange numbers, make new friends, chat as you walk and have fun!
MEETING TIME: 11:15 – 11:30 AM.
MEETING POINT: Outside “Customs House”, 31 Alfred St, Sydney NSW 2000 (close to Circular Quay station). We will assemble at the corner at Loftus Street. You are welcome to buy coffee/snacks from the McDonald’s nearby before the walk begins.
START AND PROGRAMME: We will begin around 11:30 AM from Customs House, moving towards Museum of Sydney, the Royal Botanic Garden, Hyde Park, QVB… Break midway for those who want to grab drinks and snacks.
END: We will end the walk around 2:45 PM near Martin Place.

IMPORTANT:
- Please check transport in advance, and make sure you sleep well the night before so you can reach the meeting point on time in the morning.
- Remember to have a good breakfast before arriving which can keep you going during the early afternoon.
- Please message if you are running late.
- Wear comfortable shoes, a hat or cap, sun protection. Please bring a water bottle and an umbrella.
- No additional compulsory costs beyond $20. Drinks and snacks are optional – you may also bring your own.
- Photos of the group will be clicked and may be posted on Meetup and the organiser’s social media platforms. Attendees who do not wish to be photographed must inform the organiser before the tour begins.
- Please update your registration if you are unable to make it to the event.
